River Basins

Salween

The Salween remains largely free-flowing: the river basin is one of the least modified in Southeast Asia. Known as the Nu (angry) River in China, it flows from the Tibetan Plateau over 2,800 km into the Bay of Bengal. It drains a narrow and mountainous watershed that extends across China, Myanmar and Thailand.
